How Open Play Works
Pickleball Open Play: Common Questions
What is pickleball open play?
Open play is a drop-in session at a venue. You pay per person instead of renting a whole court, players rotate in and out of games, and you don't need to bring a partner or a full group.
How do I join an open play session?
Pick a session on this page, check its skill level, date, time and fee, then register. Some venues announce open play only on their own pages, so also check venue pages in the directory.
What skill level do I need?
Each session shows its level: beginner, intermediate, advanced or all levels. If you're new, choose a beginner or all-levels session and read the beginner rules guide first.
How much does open play cost?
Each venue sets its own per-person fee. It is shown on the session before you register.
What should I bring?
A paddle if you have one (some venues rent paddles), water, and non-marking court shoes for indoor courts. See the paddle guide and shoe guide.
